This paper investigates the optimization of formwork (bekisting) systems for columns in residential buildings, focusing on cost-effective yet technically compliant methodologies. By leveraging standardized timber-plywood systems and systematic quality control, practitioners can achieve high structural precision while adhering to SNI 2847:2019 guidelines. The study analyzes reinforcement detailing, formwork bracing stability, and the importance of professional oversight in small-scale developments in Bali. Findings indicate that standardized formwork approaches significantly reduce material waste and long-term maintenance needs. Abstrak (Bahasa Indonesia) Proyek residensial skala kecil sering kali menghadapi tantangan kualitas struktural karena keterbatasan sumber daya dan peralatan khusus. Makalah ini menyelidiki optimalisasi sistem bekisting untuk kolom pada bangunan rumah tinggal, dengan fokus pada metodologi yang hemat biaya namun tetap memenuhi standar teknis. Dengan memanfaatkan sistem kayu lapis ( plywood ) standar dan kontrol kualitas sistematis, praktisi dapat mencapai presisi struktural yang tinggi sembari tetap mematuhi pedoman SNI 2847:2019. Studi ini menganalisis detail penulangan, stabilitas penyangga bekisting, dan pentingnya pengawasan profesional dalam pembangunan skala kecil di Bali. Temuan menunjukkan bahwa pendekatan bekisting standar secara signifikan mengurangi limbah material dan kebutuhan perawatan jangka panjang. 1. Introduction Small-scale construction, such as individual villas or residential units, frequently suffers from inconsistent quality in structural elements like columns. Precision in formwork is the primary driver of column integrity. In the context of Bali, where seismic activity is a reality, ensuring that columns are perfectly vertical and have the correct reinforcement cover is essential, regardless of project scale. 2. Analytical Formulation and Formwork Efficiency For small-scale projects, formwork must be designed to withstand the lateral pressure $P_{max}$ of the concrete mix while remaining economically efficient. The pressure $P_{max}$ is given by: $$P_{max} = C_c \cdot C_w \left[ 7.2 + \frac{785 \cdot R}{T + 17.8} \right]$$ For a column section of width $b$ and depth $d$, the required moment capacity $M_u$ and the associated formwork stiffness must ensure that the section geometry remains within the tolerance of $h/500$. Even in small projects, the use of a simple yet rigid bracing system prevents bulging, which otherwise leads to eccentric loading and reduced load-bearing capacity. 3.
